Not trying to derail or anything, but has anyone even read the info I posted. If it's not all based on JW's, I think they may have based the info on such reports. Anyway, back to invisible mode;)

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

"You state Caedes that natural disasters don’t have anything to do with free will. Well they do as I have explained."
You have not explained this. Please give an example. -

"What do you think would happen if God stepped in to prevent harm from every natural disaster?"
.. Needless death that benefits nobody and has no relation to free will would be prevented. Next question..
Seriously though, why do you feel it is beneficial to anyone for you and 'others' to be protected if God feels like it, and yet He lets disasters like the Tsunami happen without protecting anyone?

"The idea of a world where any and all bad was prevented from happening to people or animals might sound good, but the reality of such a world would not be desirable at all. Such a world would also entail preventing people or animals from doing anything bad."
Why would it entail that? All God would have to do is prevent harm from natural disaster, free will would still be preserved.

"I actually think there are instances of intervention to prevent animals or people being harmed by natural disasters."
What leads you to believe this?

"defender of truth, the answer is, that it is not that the world was made in a way that required earthquakes but that earthquakes are part of the world. Otherwise it is like asking why earthquakes were made in such a way that required the earth."
... Are you saying that God originally made the world without earthquakes and other natural disasters, then they later came about due to some kind of evolutionary process? Otherwise you are back to my original earthquake question.
And this still would not answer why He does not intervene, why He fails to rescue people or animals from the effects of what He has allowed to happen.
Animals have done no wrong, they haven't sinned (back to the topic). -

Protect the elderly
by defender of truth inthis weeks km is telling elders to arrange for group studies with people in local nursing homes, with instructions on how to word things when speaking to the directors etc.. they are clearly trying to get to people who may not be entirely able to think for themselves or who may lack critical thinking and yet may have money to leave to them.. what can you do?.
well, if you wanted to, write a short and simple letter or email to your local care home, perhaps directly even speak to the director yourself... warn them about the brainwashing and danger of breaking up of families etc.
the km says they should identify themselves as jw's... .

I gather that not a single person on the board feels it is necessary to act on this? Okay then...

Ok, I found this. If this is the kind of info they've read, and putting it together with other things I've posted, they could be generalising based on OFW's (overseas filipino workers). In case anybody's interested..
" We were in a place so alien that the word “loneliness” did not even come close to capturing what one ended up wallowing in for days on end. That’s why the need for physical contact was so acute, and that’s why many OFWs like ourselves sometimes did things they wouldn’t even have thought of doing back home. "
"Intimate relations between men have long been illegal in the Kingdom. The punishment for sodomy is death. But even now there is no dearth of men looking for possible hookups, even in malls and supermarkets, where they are said to be on the alert for Filipinos. According to one news report, a street in Jeddah has become the most accident-prone area in the city because it is the most popular place to pick up gay Filipinos who strut their stuff on the sidewalk in tight jeans and cut-off t-shirts.
Some Filipinos actually find the Kingdom a place for the fulfillment of desires and lifestyles they could hardly afford in the Philippines. Gay men hold secret parties and fashion shows almost every other week. Most of them have foreign partners. Some even live together like family. Then and now, there have been OFWs who have made money out of these men’s attraction to Filipino males."

No evidence found so far of homosexuality when working abroad, but there is some evidence of incest, unfortunately..
"Rhodora Abano, advocacy officer of the Center for Migrant Advocacy explained "that an undetermined number of families are breaking up due to spouses taking on another partner while the husband or wife is away. Likewise, most children of OFWs have become 'materialistic,' asking for more money to compensate for the emotional absence of one or both parents. Some of the OFW children have also dropped out of school...or resorted to early marriages because of teenage promiscuity, or bore children out of wedlock. Worst problem for OFW children is when they fall into drug addiction, gambling or other vices" (ibid.).
Incest has become common
On March 11, 2007 Veronica Uy of INQUIRER.netreported: "As more Filipino mothers leave for work abroad, incest between a daughter and the father who are left behind has become an emerging social problem."In connection with the International Women's Day, Philippine Senator Pia Cayetano called public attention to "an emerging problem in labor-exporting countries like the Philippines." The senator noted that "older daughters of women OFWs are made to take on the roles left by their mother, sometimes as 'substitute spouses'" (ibid.)."
